(M. 18459 Sh. Cpl. 2, R.N.); British War and Victory Medals (M. 18459 Sh. Cpl. 1, R.N.); Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 2nd issue, fixed suspension (M. 18459 R.P.O., H.M.S. Vivid), the middle two with minor official correction to surname, a little polished but generally very fine (4) £60-80

William George Henry Daniel Baskett, who was born in Poplar, London in May 1886, is believed to have served aboard the battleship H.M.S. Orion from no later than August 1915 until after the War. If so, of course, he would have shared in her honours at the Battle of Jutland.
