34th Sikh Pioneers, an officer’s side hat in navy blue cloth with yellow cloth crown and bearing a hall marked silver cap badge (Birm 1918 JRG &S) being a KC over a quoit over crossed axes centrally ‘34’ on a black enamel ground (crazed), two worn frontal buttons bearing KC over a quoit with SIKHS in the centre; 1st Afridi Battalion, an officer’s side hat in navy blue cloth with white cloth crown and piping, silver plated cap badge displays a two towered castle over a tri-part scroll ‘1st Afridi Bn’, brass frontal buttons with Royal arms (KC); 3rd Sikh Pioneers, a very fine officer’s hall marked silver cap badge (Birm 1926 F&S) KC over a quoit Sikh Pioneers with ‘3’ in the centre crossed axes at base with tri-part scroll ‘ Aut Viam Inverniam Aut Faciam’ together with a field officer’s peaked dress cap this named inside to ‘Ford 61Pion(eers)’ retailed by Hawkes & Co, the field officer’s hat lacking one chin strap button and with considerable moth damage otherwise good overall condition £150-200
