The Leicestershire Regiment, 1st Volunteer Battalion, an officer’s 1878 pattern home service green cloth helmet complete with all plated fittings and bearing the silver plated and gilt helmet plate 1883-1901, the skull sound but the green cloth on the side and rear skull panels severely faded, the plating sound all round under surface grime, the chin chain leather/velvet lining partly detached, internally reasonably sound but with some wear to the green canvas lined peaks, the plate original to the helmet, well worth careful restoration £400-500
