Leslie Drew Fisher was born in Reigate on 29 March 1880. He entered the Royal Navy in 1893 and was promoted Lieutenant in 1900. He served aboard the Sappho during the Boer War and the operations in Somaliland. He commanded the Electra in the Home Fleet during 1905-07 and the Spiteful, again in the Home Fleet during 1907-9. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request in 1910 but returned to active duty in 1912. During the Great War he held the rank of Lieutenant-Commander and made Acting Commander in 1915. Heavily involved in minesweeping activities, he was was awarded the D.S.O. and Bar for his services. Fisher reverted to the Retired List in 1919 and died on 1 September 1953. Sold with a quantity of copied research inscluding service records.
