Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Relief of Ladysmith (3428 Pte. G. White, Durham Lt. Infy.) nearly extremely fine £120-160

George White was born in Bethnal Green, London in August 1870. He enlisted at Colchester into the 1st Battalion Durham Light Infantry from the 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers on 23 February 1889, aged 18 years and six months. Serving with the regiment in the Boer War, he was wounded at Vaal Krantz on 5 February 1900. White was discharged at Aldeshot in 1902 - his character being given as ‘Bad’. Sold with copied service papers.
