Charles Thomas Clark (‘Clarke’ on medal) was born in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppy, Kent on 20 January 1872. A Hairdresser by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 20 July 1887. He became rated as a Sick Berth Attendant on 21 January 1890 and attained the rank of Sick Berth Steward on 28 July 1897. He was discharged with a pension in 1912 but was recalled for war service during 1914-18, serving on Pembroke I and Tyne. Sold with copied service papers.
