Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Vittoria, Orthes (John McCormick, 6th Foot) first clasp glued at one side, edge bruises, otherwise very fine £500-600

John McCormick was born in the Parish of Bunblin, near Roscommon, and enlisted into the 6th Foot at Dublin on 17 July 1811. He was discharged on 11 May 1824, in consequence of ‘chronic affection of the liver.’ Sold with copy discharge papers and a muster roll for June to September 1814 which lists McCormick as being in the regimental hospital whilst stationed in Upper Canada. The regiment arrived in July 1814 and took part in the action at Fort Erie.
