Edward Poulton was a recruit from Hampton Wick, Middlesex, who enlisted as a Private with the 13th Foot (regimental number 1987) on 5 May 1843. He transferred to H.M.’s 31st Foot at Umballa on 22 April 1845 (regimental number 2370), and was killed in action at the battle of Ferozeshuhur on 22 December 1845.
