John McLintock was born at Barrhead, Scotland, on 25 November 1893 and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Calgary, Alberta, on 29 November 1915. He served with the 16th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery during the Great War on the Western Front from 18 May 1917, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was discharged on 25 May 1919, and died on 17 July 1977.
