Arthur George Shipley was born in Dum Dum, India, and attested for the 21st Lancers at Canterbury, Kent. He served with them during the Great War in the Frontier regions of India theatre of War from 5 September 1915, and died in India on 3 November 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Delhi War Memorial, India.
