Henry Burge Payne attested for the Royal Warwickshire Regiment on 26 August 1916 and served with them during the Great War, before transferring to the Royal Berkshire Regiment. He was discharged on account of wounds on 24 August 1919, and was awarded a Silver War Badge.

John William Brew was born in Sunderland, co. Durham, and attested there for the 21st Battalion (Tyneside Scottish), Northumberland Fusiliers. He served with them during the Great War on the Western Front, and died at home on 29 June 1918. He is buried in Sunderland (Bishopwearmouth) Cemetery.

William Ellemor was born in Silksworth, co. Durham, and attested for the Yorkshire Regiment at Sunderland. He served with the 9th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 26 August 1915, and was killed in action on 14 May 1916. He is buried in Tranchee de Mecknes Cemetery, Aix-Noulette, France.

James McIntyre attested for the Yorkshire Regiment at Middlesbrough and served with the 4th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 23 April 1917; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
