South Africa, Wellington Bank, Five Pounds, 11 September 1888, B 3973, black on white, wreathed head of Wellington at upper centre (Pick S291). Split vertically, well circulated with a few small holes in body, worn on edges with nicks and a few tape repairs on back, good to very good; with red cachet stamp at left from the Standard Bank (£300-400)

Believed to be the only British Commonwealth note to carry a portrait of the Duke of Wellington
