Matthew Richard Tullett was born at Nuthurst, Sussex, on 17 May 1868, and joined the Metropolitan Police on 31 May 1892, being posted to ‘G’ Division (Finsbury). He transferred to ‘P’ Division (Camberwell) on 16 January 1901, and resigned from the Force on 11 August 1919, after 27 years 52 days service, aged 51. He died at Chelsham, Surrey, on 16 May 1954.
