James VII (1685-1688), Silver touchpiece, struck in England by J. Roettier for James in France, the Prince (James’s flagship at the Battle of Sole Bay) sailing right, rev. St. Michael slaying the dragon, 1.42g/12h (Woolf O2/R2). Pierced for use, some scratches, otherwise good very fine with attractive dark grey tone, very rare (£300-350)
