James II (1437-1460), Second coinage, Second issue, Groat, Edinburgh, class III, mm. crown, saltires by neck, lis above and to right of crown with trefoils, rev. crown before vil, crown in first and fourth quarters, three pellets in second and third quarters, 3.47g/10h (SCBI 35, 709; B –; S –). Weak in places, nearly very fine, very rare (£400-500)
