The lot is sold with the recipient’s original Wireless Telegraphist’s parchment History Sheet and 30 contemporary Post Card photographs of Messina, 15 showing scenes of Messina prior to the earthquake, and 15 of scenes taken after the earthquake.

Arthur Williamson was serving aboard H.M.S. Exmouth at the time of the Messina earthquake and was one of the men who actually landed during the rescue operations. Sold with further research.
