Memorial Plaque (2) (Bertie Charles Letch; Herbert William Letch) traces of verdigris to fist, very fine (2) £80-£120

Bertie Charles Letch, a native of Shenley, Hertfordshire, attested for the Middlesex Regiment at Bedford. He served with the 4th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 15 June 1915, and was killed in action on 2 July 1916. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

Herbert William Letch, the brother of the above, attested for the Manchester Regiment and served with the 2nd/9th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 27 March 1918, and is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.
