Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (Frederick Rowett. Div. Carp., H.M.S. Coast Guard.) polished and toned, very fine £60-£80

Frederick Rowett was born in Southampton on 2 July 1868 and joined the Royal Navy as a Shipwright on 21 March 1890. He Advanced Leading Shipwright on 27 February 1896, and Carpenter’s Mate on 11 August 1898, he was transferred to the Coast Guard as a Divisional Carpenter on 16 August 1903, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 23 March 1905. His final posting was to East Cowes, Isle of Wight, prior to his being shore pensioned on 22 March 1912. Recalled to the Service following the outbreak of the Great War, he served throughout the War in H.M.S. Victory, and was shore demobilised on 28 June 1919.
