Browne, Cumberland & Westmorland Constab.) edge prepared prior to naming; Defence Medal; Jubilee 1935, unnamed as issued; Coronation 1937, unnamed as issued; Police L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R. (Philip T. B. Theodore Brierley Browne initially served in the Royal Ulster Constabulary, and advanced to Superintendent by 1926. Later that year he was appointed Chief Constable of the Cumberland and Westmorland Constabulary, a position he was retain until 3 December 1951 - when he ‘died in service’.

Browne’s Full Dress Uniform is held in the museum of Cumbria Constabulary at Police Headquarters, Penrith.
