Albert Henry Pasch was born at Whitechapel, London on 22 June 1883 and commenced his naval service as a Boy 2nd Class on 26 October 1899. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in August 1916, and his medals for service in the Great War were sent to H.M.S. Victory. He was paid a war gratuity for service in H.M.S. Castor. He was shore pensioned in 1921, and transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve; briefly recalled for service in 1938, he was shortly thereafter demobilised. He was again recalled in August 1939 serving in H.M.S. Victory.
