Arthur Sidney Baynham was born at Denbury Worcestershire, on 16 May 1893 and commenced his naval service as Boy 2nd Class in September 1910. He was paid a war gratuity when serving in H.M.S. Malaya, and his Great War Medals were sent to H.M.S. Vindictive. Official replacements of his war medals were sent to H.M.S. Courageous on 4 August 1928.
