A German Second War Luftwaffe Air Gunner/Wireless Operator Badge.
A beautifully constructed badge by Berg & Nolte of Ludenscheid. Originally produced as a Air Gunner/Wireless Operator badge in Tombak, the lightning claws have been removed from the claws of the eagle, this was a practise that did take place during WWII but it also has taken place since WWII to turn a genuine Wireless Operator/Air Gunner badge into an Air Gunner only badge, which has a higher value. This is a beautiful quality badge with its original pin, hook and hinge, marked ‘B & N L’ on the reverse side, excellent condition £140-£180
