Five: Bandmaster H. A. Kenney, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry

Defence and War Medals 1939-45; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Cyprus (5671005 W.O. Cl. 1, H. A. Kenney. Oxf. & Bucks.); Coronation 1953; Army L.S. & G.C., E.II.R., 1st issue, Regular Army (5671005 W.O. Cl. 1. H. A. Kenney. Oxf & Bucks) together with mounted set of five miniature dress medals, light contact marks, otherwise very fine £260-£300

Warrant Officer Kenney is first mentioned in the 1949 Chronicle as Bandmaster on 31st December. In 1954 he wrote a slow march ‘The Troop’, and a quick march ‘Waterloo’. On 6 May 1954, the Colonel of the regiment presented him with his L.S. & G.C. medal. In 1955 he wrote ‘The 52nd Colours’. On 6 April 1960, he was posted to the Royal Artillery band at Plymouth and commissioned as Director of Music He also played hockey and played for the Army in 1958. Sold with a copied group photograph of the N.C.O’s of the 43rd and 52nd Light Infantry in Cyprus 1957.
