William Ernest Jospeh Gibbs served as an Acting Sub-Conductor with the 1st/4th Hampshire Regiment, attached “B” Railhead Transport Section during the Third Afghan War. He was demobilised Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 5 January 1920.
