Stanley Robert Bristow was born in Peckham, London, the son of Stanley Frederick Bristow, and the brother of Frederick John Bristow, and attested for the Royal Fusiliers. He served with the 23rd (First Sportsman’s) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 November 1915, and was killed in action on 30 January 1917. He is buried in Courcelette British Cemetery, Somme, France.
