Miscellaneous Tokens and Checks, Transportation: a George III Penny, 1797, both sides planed smooth and engraved william harris transported 7 years 1819, rev. a keep sake for my dear nancy, crossed arrows and heart below, 35mm. Fine £100-£150

Two people named William Harris were convicted and transported in 1819. One was convicted at Devon Assizes and sentenced to 7 years, sailing on the
John Barry on 30 April 1819 and arriving in New South Wales on 26 September; the other was convicted at Leicester Borough Assizes and sailed on the Recovery on 31 July 1819, arriving in Botany Bay on 18 December. A William Harris was hanged at Sydney on 6 April 1822 for a robbery on James Cribb on the Parramatta road
