Leslie Henry Francis was born and enlisted in Cardiff and died of wounds on 22 October 1918, whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Soldiers Died in The Great War records Francis as a France and Flanders casualty, although he is buried in Niederzwehren Cemetery, Germany.
