Honorary Major & Quarter Master E. P. Offord, R.A.M.C. entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 August 1914 and was later mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 22 June 1915). He had previously served in the Egypt Expedition of 1882 for which he was awarded the Queen’s medal and Khedive’s star. During the Second Boer War he served in various operations in the Orange River Colony, February 1900 - 31 May 1902 and gained the Queen’s medal with 3 clasps and the King’s medal with 2 clasps.
