Michael McInerney was born in St. Mary’s, Limerick and enlisted at Tralee, Co. Kerry. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers, he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. He was killed in action on 27 August 1914 and buried in the Etreux British Cemetery.
