Lance Corporal W. Winwood, 1st Battalion Royal Highlanders, entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 7 November 1914. He was discharged on 30 September 1915 as ‘unfit for war service.’

Lance Corporal D. Knight, 2nd Battalion Royal Highlanders, entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 12 October 1914. He was discharged on 27 September 1915 as ‘unfit for war service.’

The medal to Lance Corporal Black bears the incorrect details. He served initially with the 1st Battalion Royal Highlanders, entering the France / Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. He was transferred to the 14th battalion on 21 February 1917.
