Boy Scouts Association Gallantry Cross, 2nd Class, silver, hallmarks for Birmingham 1937, 2nd issue, by Collins, London (Denis Edwards 28-5-41), with brooch bar, extremely fine £550-650

Denis Edwards was a Second in the 8th Holborn (Lady Peak’s Own) Group and was also a member of the Imperial Headquarters Staff. His citation reads:

‘For carrying out his Civil Defence duties with great gallantry and resource and a total disregard of his own safety during severe air raids on London.’

His cross was awarded on 28 May 1941. Sold with a reproduced photograph.
