Provenance: Cross Collection, J. B. Hayward, January 1973.

Robert H. Parnall was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 3rd (Militia) Battalin, Middlesex Regiment on 14 November 1894, and was promoted Lieutenant on 22 January 1896, and Captain on 13 October 1897. He served with the re-numbered 5th (Militia) Battalion in South Africa in 1902, and relinquished his commission in 1905.
