Nicholson, 12th. Andrew Nicholson was born in Maidstone, Kent, and attested for the 12th Lancers on 15 July 1846. He served with the Regiment in South Africa during the Third Kaffir War; in the Crimea; and in India during the Great Sepoy Mutiny. He died at sea whilst on his way home from India in the troopship Trafalgar on 26 April 1860.
