Winchcomb Bank, Two Guineas (2), 10 October 1813, no.A530, 11 November 1815, no.A805, both for Fisher & Ashmore, black on white with small bank insignia at left, first signed by Thos. Fisher, second signed by Thos. Ashmore (cf. Grant 3225) [2]. First with tear at top edge and a 30mm tear at bottom right, second with small hole at right filled by repair strip on back, very good (£140-160)

Sold together with contemporary note relating to the exhibition of the notes at the bankruptcy hearing of the Bank at the Royal Hotel, Cheltenham, on 27 September 1820. Both these notes, and those in the following three lots, were the property of Evans Adlard & Co Ltd, paper manufacturers, Postlip Mill, Winchcombe, founded in 1749 and since 1982 part of the Hollingsworth and Vose group based at East Walpole, Maryland
