Malta, Royal Malta Yacht Club, bronze medals (2), for the Middle Sea Race, one for the Malta Tourist Board, unsigned, pennant, rev. futuristic yacht, 32mm; other for the Martini International Club, by N.E. Galea-Bason, Martini logo, 1978 engraved above, rev. yachts and harbour, 38mm [2]. About extremely fine and better (£30-40)

First staged in 1968, the Middle Sea Race, which currently enjoys sponsorship from Rolex, is a highly rated offshore sailing classic held each October. The 607-nautical mile course takes yachts on a route from Malta to Sicily, through the Straits of Messina, past the islands of Lampedusa and Pantelleria, then back to the finish in Malta. The yachts race past two active volcanoes, Etna and Stromboli, the latter being a course marker.
