Charles I (1625-1649), Half-Pound, 1642, Tower horseman fully contained within inner circle, Aberystwyth type plume in field behind, five pellets before legend, reads brit, rev. three Aberystwyth type plumes above Declaration, date below with space between 16 and 42, nine pellets before legend, 59.16g/11h (Morr. A-6; N 2364; S 2920). Fine only but excessively rare (£2,500-3,000)

The cataloguer has traced only two other examples from this obverse, namely Ryan, lot 1270 (Morr A-3) and Montagu, lot 541 (Morr A-6), the latter now in the British Museum
