Territorial Efficiency Medal, G.V.R. (5248 Pte. R. B. Wallace. 5/Scot:Rif.); together with 2 silver shooting medals, the first with obverse engraved ‘Winner, Robert Wallace, 1903’ and reverse engraved ‘Campbeltown Rifle Club B. Series’, hallmarked Birmingham 1899, the second with reverse engraved ‘K (University) Coy 1st L.R.V. Junior Championship 1905 won by Pte. R. B. Wallace’, hallmarked Glasgow 1903, extremely fine (3) £80-£120

Robert Boyd Wallace was born in Campbeltown, Scotland in 1882 and attested for the Scottish Rifles. He was awarded the Territorial Efficiency Medal under Army Order 120 dated 1 April 1913 following his completion of a minimum of 12 years service in the Territorial Force. He served during the Great War on the Western Front from 5 November 1914 (entitled to a 1914 Star trio), initially with the 5th Battalion, and then, from 29 May 1916, with the 5/6th Battalion, advancing to Sergeant. He was killed in action in France on 20 November 1917 and is buried in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery No.3, Belgium.
