Donald Wells, a native of Herne Bay, Kent, was born on 26 January 1929, and served with the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry during the Korean War. He was killed in action on 17 November 1951 when Chinese forces attacked Point 355, the position being temporarily lost during vicious hand to hand fighting. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Memorial Wall at the U.N. Cemetery at Pusan, Korea.
