Charles Henry Madden was a native of Notting Hill, London. He served during the Great War with the 1/13th (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment (Kensington’s) in the French theatre of war. Madden was killed in action whilst serving with the Battalion on the Western Front, 3 October 1918, and is buried in the Cagnicourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. The Battalion carried out patrols along the Sensee Canal, 30 September - 8 October 1918.
