Frederick William Day was born in Richmond, Surrey, in 1881, and served with the 10th Hussars both in South Africa during the Boer War, and during the Great War on the Western Front from 22 August 1914. He died during a bombing raid on Teddington, Middlesex, in 1944, and is buried in Waldegrave Cemetery, Teddington.
