Alfred Edward Pettitt was born in Kensington, London, and attested for the Machine Gun Corps. He served with the 66th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and died of wounds on 7 April 1918. He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.
