Norman Walker was born in Heckmondwyke, Yorkshire in May 1918. He enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment (T.A.) in July 1935, and transferred to the Royal Artillery in August 1940. Walker was discharged in December 1946, and re-enlisted the same month. He advanced to Staff Sergeant, and was finally discharged, 30 November 1963. Walker resided in Christchurch, Dorset in later life, and died in December 2006.

Sold with the following related items and documents: Two Regular Army Certificates of Service; named card box of issue for L.S. & G.C.; Army Certificate of Education Second Class, and the same for Third Class; Royal Artillery Association Life Membership Certificate; Civil Service Retirement Fellowship Life Member Card; Membership Card for the International Police Association, complete with photograph of recipient; and various miscellaneous badges.
