Kabul to Kandahar Star 1880 (316. Pte. J. Brett. 14th Foot) good very fine, scarce £280-£320

John Brett was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, and attested for the 10th Brigade in June 1874. He deserted in August of the same year, and was imprisoned prior to transferring to the 14th Foot in April 1877. Brett served with the 2nd Battalion in Afghanistan 1878-80, but the 14th Foot were not present for the march from Kabul to Kandahar. Brett was discharged, 1 February 1889.
