Three: Private P. McGeough, Royal Army Medical Corps

Gulf 1990-91, 1 clasp, 16 Jan to 28 Feb 1991(24836877 Pte P Mc. Geough RAMC); Saudi Arabia, Kingdom, Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait 1991; Kuwait, Emirate, Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait 1991, 4th Grade, the latter two both in named boxes of issue; together with the recipient’s Cambrian Patrol Medallion, good very fine (4) £120-£160

P. Mcgeough was born on 10 July 1967, and attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps on 4 March 1988. He served with the R.A.M.C. in the First Gulf War, and was discharged on 30 September 1991, having qualified as a Combat Medical Technician on 24 May of that year.

Sold with the recipient’s Cambrian Patrol Certificate ‘in recognition of his completed the Cambrian Patrol, an arduous tactical exercise across mountainous terrain, involving the military skills that are the basis of all soldiering’, dated 23 September 1990; and various supporting documentation and photographs, including a copied letter from Major Michael Fishkin, United States Army Medical Corps, dated 28 February 1991, which reads:
‘It has been my pleasure to work in the combat zone with ... Pte McGeough P 24836877... These men have been exposed to possible gas attack, booby trapped POW’s and significant hazardous risk. They have provided expert medical care to allies as well as POW’s. I have charged them with military missions which have been done perfectly. I am sorry to lose them.’
