Punjab 1848-49, 1 clasp, Goojerat (Lieut. S. M. Munro, 25th. Bengal N.I.) edge bruise, otherwise nearly extremely fine £300-£400

Samuel Maillard Munro was born in West Indies on 12 April 1820, educated at Edinburgh High School, and joined the Bengal Native Infantry on 12 January 1842. He served in the 25th Native Infantry at the Battle of Goojerat on 21 February 1849, and was also entitled to India General Service Medal with clasp Pegu. He died on 7 May 1854 whilst Second in Command of the Arracan Battalion at Seringapatam.
