Birmingham, Thomas Welch, a uniface trial of the unfinished obv. die for the Penny [1800] by J.G. Hancock Sr, bust left, no buttons on coat, back stamped with a double floral circle impressed gilt, edge on demand i promise to pay the bearer one penny, 26.90g/9h (DH 22). Extremely fine and as made, of the highest rarity (£600-800)
