Aylsham, Stephen and T. Ashley, Halfpenny, 1795, ashley crosses and dots edge, 8.69g/6h (DH 5a); Blofield, Kempson’s Halfpence, 1796 (2), fear god edge, 11.81g/12h (DH 6), edge plain, 13.72g/12h (DH 6b) [3]. First extremely fine with original colour, second nearly so but reverse spotted, last very fine (£40-60)

Stephen Ashley, grocer. The Blofield and South Walsham troop of the Yeomanry Cavalry of Norfolk, led by Capt James Burkin Burroughes (†1803, aged 43) of Burlingham Hall, was formed on 18 March 1795; between then and 1803 the troop averaged 60 men
