Death of Revd. William Romaine, 1795, a silver medal by J. Milton, draped bust three-quarters right in ecclesiastical vestments, rev. Religion standing right, 32mm, 12.82g/12h (DH 216; Stainton 14; BHM 403). Trifling surface marks in reverse field, otherwise virtually as struck with steel-blue tone, very rare (£150-200)

Revd William Romaine (1714-95), son of a corn dealer from Hartlepool, chaplain to Sir Daniel Lambert, Lord Mayor of London, 1741, later preacher at St George’s, Hanover square, St Dunstans in the West, St Olave’s Southwark and, from 1764, at St Anne’s, Blackfriars
