Birth of George, Prince of Wales, 1762, a copper medalet, 19mm, 2.24g/6h (DH 1142; BHM 81); Prince of Wales Appointed Regent, 1789, medalets (4), viz. by Lutwyche (3), revs. crown, he holds it for the king, etc, in copper, 6.60g/6h, in brass, 6.59g/6h, both 27mm (both DH 969; BHM 322), different bust, 26mm, 6.71g/6h (DH 972); unsigned, rev. Prince’s plumes, appointed, etc, 30mm, 7.27g/6h (DH 968; BHM 321); Marriage of the Prince and Princess Caroline of Brunswick, 1795, medalets (8), all unsigned, conjoined busts left, revs. Prince’s plumes (4), large size (2), in brass, edge grained, 26mm, 4.57g/12h (DH 976; BHM 398), edge plain, 26mm, 4.83g/12h (DH 976a; BHM 398), small size (2), in brass, 2.13g/12h, plated, 2.31g/12h, both 20mm (both DH 1143; BHM 398), in copper (4), revs. stork and cornucopia, 20mm, 2.72g/3h (DH 1144), thin pig, 20mm, 2.74g/6h (DH 1146, this piece illustrated), fat pig, 20mm, 1.87g/6h (DH 1147), beehive above peace, 20mm, 2.99g/3h (DH 1148) [13]. George, Prince of Wales, was born on 17 August 1762. The Regency Bill appointed him Regent on 30 January 1789, a title he relinquished after the recovery from illness of the King on 26 February 1789. He married Princess Caroline of Brunswick on 8 April 1795
