Estimate: £1,800–£2,200

Delhi Durbar 1903 Presentation Silver Box, by Carrington’s, Regent St., London, 186 x 93 x 45mm. (approx.), silver, hallmarks for London 1902, lid set with the disk of the Delhi Durbar Medal 1903, inscribed, ‘Delhi Durbar 1903’ and engraved with two crowned ‘C’ monograms, ‘medal’ a little worn, otherwise very good condition £1800-2200

Probably no more than six of these boxes were made by Carringtons to the order of the Curzon family. These were distributed by Lord Curzon, strictly within the family, as a personal memento of his achievement of presiding over the Durbar celebrations as Viceroy of India.
